CISSP Exam

Over the past two months, I have focused on preparing for the CISSP exam. I think I am heading down the home stretch and plan on taking the test at the end of the month. I have started my last chapter of Shon Harris’ Exam Guide, 1800 page monster book. I have not found her video series, but I watched it a couple of years ago and it was very good. They may be temporarily not available. I will start doing practice questions for the next two weeks. The site posts past exams and I will use questions from my books. 100 questions per day. It is an expensive exam – currently around $600. Sucks that I am paying this out-of-pocket! I would rather pay up front than have my employer claw back later. This is my second time preparing for the exam. I found a website CyberIT:
https://www.cybrary.it/
They are free and have a good video series to reinforce the book.

This is a detour for me. I think when I get CISSP done, I will go back to studying SharePoint, especially PowerShell and SharePoint Online.

I have spoken to the head of the Atlanta SharePoint User Group and I will be doing a presentation on Project Management for SharePoint in January. I created a Sway presentation and include links to artifacts and samples of deliverables I have developed over the past few years.

This month, there is the Cloud Saturday in Atlanta. In October, I will be attending the SQL Saturday in Columbus, GA/Phoenix Alabama. Later in October is the Atlanta Code Camp.

At work at the CDC, I am doing a Proof of Concept of migrating our partner farm to SharePoint Online.
